Kerr & Kerr

The client came in knowing they wanted to update the logo, but didn’t want anything to really change. Their brand identity was very important to them and they didn’t want to compromise it.

“Remain recognizable to long-term customers, simplify and remove the additional text, and a high-res asset library.”

— CLIENT WISH LIST

Designing for them had to be different enough to bring it into the modern day, but not so different that they felt it couldn’t represent their brand as well as the previous one did. It was going to be a balancing act.

Client : Kerr and Kerr

Role : Brand Development

Brief : Update the current brand, but keep it recognizable to long-term clients.

In the original logo, the two key identifying aspects were the tree and the domed/semi-circle shape. I reconfigured the layout to keep all the text together beneath the tree. This highlighted their classic tree icon and made the text far more legible.

The previous logo’s files had been lost somewhere in years of admin. Only a low res jpg version of the logo could be provided as an example at the beginning of this process. It was very important to the client that they move forward with all the brand assets. they would need in a high quality format.

A logo library was built for their in-office use with jpg, png, vector and pdf copies of all logo variations (in CMYK and RGB) were provided to the client for their continued use.
